Plot

At the schoolhouse, the day before New Years' Eve, Lucky finds Abigail trying to get Boomerang ready for the fireworks. At school, Miss Flores passes out the students' New Year's resolutions from the previous year and asks them what it was like to experience them, but Lucky realizes she has accomplished none of her resolutions, and determines to complete them all before the new year comes, midnight the next day.

Cue old friend riding into town. After school, the girls are in the Stable playing Apple Grapple, a new game that Lucky came up with, when Javier calls for the girls from outside. He invites the girls to go out for a ride and they happily agree. He tells them that he isn't just in Miradero for the New Year's party, but because the mayor asked him to lead the parade with a charro dance. He then implies that he wants the girls to join, they accept.

The next day, Lucky wakes up early to watch the sunrise, then she gets ready to finish her resolutions. She goes swimming with Spirit and nearly freezes. The next thing on her list is to try every kind of candy in the candy shop, and then she tries to learn to lose gracefully, but ends up winning and gloating. She continues to run around and letting her resolutions get in the way of her practicing. When she tries to do the routine in a dry run, she messes up due to her lack of practice and upsets Javier. She then runs off and tries to catch the sunset off Pioneer Peak, but misses it. When she returns, the party is in full swing and she explains to Javier and he forgives her and they confess their feelings to each other. Then, they share a kiss as the New Year arrives.
